Job summary

Mercy is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to transition into the Birth Center/Labor & Delivery specialty at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

The role offers full-time night shifts with January and February transition cohorts available, and a structured onboarding program to gain specialized knowledge in Labor & Birth nursing. Candidates from Med Surg, Telemetry, ICU, ED, OR, or other nursing backgrounds can transition with Mercy’s support, benefitting from advanced assessment, fetal monitoring,

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
Current RN License or eligibility for licensure in the state of Missouri.
BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
Previous RN experience in an acute care or applicable clinical setting.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional patient-centered care throughout labor, delivery, and recovery.
Assess, monitor, and respond to changing maternal and fetal conditions.
Develop and implement individualized plans of care.
Educate and support patients and families.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary care teams.
Utilize fetal monitoring, laboratory, and diagnostic data to guide care decisions.
Participate in bedside handoffs and patient safety initiatives.
Contribute to quality improvement efforts and evidence-based practice.
Maintain professional growth through certifications, continuing education, and specialty development.
