Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Labor & Birth is seeking an experienced RN to join our night shift team. This role focuses on labor, delivery, and recovery with dedicated transition training for experienced nurses.

As the largest birthing center in the St. Louis region, we emphasize patient-centered care, teamwork with obstetricians and nurseries, and ongoing professional development. Full-Time Nights with transition cohorts available in January and February.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN License or eligibility for licensure in the state of Missouri.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Previous RN experience in an acute care or applicable clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient-centered care throughout labor, delivery, and recovery.
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changing maternal and fetal conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care.
• Educate and support patients and families.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary care teams.
• Utilize fetal monitoring, laboratory, and diagnostic data to guide care decisions.
• Participate in bedside handoffs and patient safety initiatives.
• Contribute to quality improvement efforts and evidence-based practice.
• Maintain professional growth through certifications, continuing education, and specialty development.
