Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Freight Handler (Forklift Operator) in Orlando, FL. You will load/unload freight with sit-down/stand-up forklifts, scan items, and help keep the dock safe and organized. This role requires OSHA compliance and reliable attendance.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years dock experience, a valid forklift certification, and strong English communication. Training is provided for equipment operation and safety procedures; nights/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure required or ability to obtain before operating equipment.
• 3+ years dock/warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing, to understand safety and operational instructions.
• Basic arithmetic to verify freight counts, quantities, and weights.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and reach trucks and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading following dock and safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld devices and company systems.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues or unsafe conditions to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and tools/equipment.
• Perform tasks under supervision while learning equipment operation and safety procedures.
