Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Service Technician in New Jersey to troubleshoot, program, and repair life safety systems. The role involves working with our service team and clients to maintain performance and safety, with emphasis on documentation and customer interaction.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of relevant experience, knowledge of NFPA 72, and the ability to read system drawings. A valid driver’s license and OSHA 10 are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in a repair or systems technician role within the Fire Life and Safety industry.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 code requirements.
• Ability to program and repair fire alarm systems using a laptop.
• Experience with smoke control and networked fire systems.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
• OSHA safety standards knowledge; OSHA 10 certification.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing Fire and Life Safety systems, including conventional, addressable, voice, and networked solutions.
• Use troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect fault conditions.
• Ensure maximum system detection and alarm coverage when repairing.
• Produce NFPA-compliant repair reports for customer acceptance and billing information.
• Program systems via laptop computers.
• Ensure Fire Alarm circuit integrity.
• Assist in managing vehicle inventory and repair tools.
• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
