Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) in Michigan seeks a Dist Line Crew Supervisor to oversee a line crew in the safe construction, maintenance, operation and retirement of distribution lines and related equipment. You will supervise, train, and coordinate crew activities and ensure rapid service restoration and compliance with safety policies.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, two years as a Line Mechanic A with leadership experience, and a valid Class A CDL.

Two years as Line Mechanic A or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct a line crew in the safe construction, maintenance, operation and retirement of distribution lines, administer procedures for service restoration of overhead and underground facilities, and all related electrical equipment using approved methods and procedures.
As a member of a line crew, perform the duties of a Line Mechanic A as needed.
Supervise and administer procedures for rapid restoration of service and line switching requirements to result in prompt and reliable service to customers.
Direct or perform switching operations; request, make and accept line clearances.
Promote and enforce the Company's Accident Prevention and Safety and Health programs.
Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior, and support the Company's Corporate Compliance Policy.
