Job summary

Modern Support Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily living, activities, and community participation.

You will mentor, teach, and advocate, helping with personal care, transportation, medical appointments, and social engagement, while respecting each person’s choices and goals. Training and a collaborative team support your growth.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation and a CA driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Weekend availability on rotating schedule.

What You'll Do

As a DSP, you’ll serve as a mentor, teacher, and advocate while respecting each person's choices, preferences, and goals. Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting daily living skills, routines, and personal care
• Helping individuals access their communities and participate in meaningful activities
• Assisting with medical appointments
• Encouraging social connections and positive peer interactions
• Supporting recreational activities and personal interests
• Promoting health, safety, independence, and self-advocacy

Requirements
