Job description

SEI Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced CNC Programmer to join our team in Hickory, NC.

Responsibilities

1. Utilize CAM programming to generate toolpaths for various CNC machines.
2. Write and optimize CNC programs for machining operations.
3. Collaborate with engineers and setup machinists to ensure accurate part production.
4. Troubleshoot and debug CNC programs as needed.
5. Adhere to quality standards and specifications in CNC machining processes.
6. Continuously improve programming techniques to enhance efficiency and productivity.

The candidate should:

• Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in metal machining, fixture design, and setup (or relevant advanced technical training if less than 10 years).
• Be proficient in programming for 4 and 5 axis CNC Turning and Milling.
• Have 8+ years of CAM programming experience (Fusion 360 preferred) and the ability to program and produce parts directly from drawings and models.
• Experience machining tight tolerance, high-value components.
• Extensive experience with Okuma, Fanuc, and other CNC controls.
• Ability to interpret technical data and engineering drawings.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, across multiple disciplines.
• Willingness to perform other tasks as directed by management, including assisting in non-production and administrative tasks.

Preferred:

• Experience with nickel-based stainless-steel alloys, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, Hast-X, and Inconel.
• Experience in Aerospace and Defense industries.
• Ability to operate heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight-critical hardware.
• Strong work ethic with attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
