Job summary

Griswold Home Care is seeking experienced caregivers to support higher-acuity clients, including those needing mechanical or Hoyer lift assistance. Roles available across Southwest Raleigh, Cary, Apex, and Morrisville with shifts from 1 to 12 hours.

We offer full-time and part-time opportunities, pay from $16.50–$25.00 per hour, weekly pay, paid training, and ongoing education. The office team provides 24/7 support to ensure safe, compassionate, and independent client care.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on caregiving experience.
• Experience safely using a mechanical or Hoyer lift.
• CNA or PCA certification preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Background check and drug screening may be required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating a mechanical or Hoyer lift.
• Assisting with transfers, mobility, and repositioning.
• Hands-on care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence.
• Support for extensive daily activities and safety.
• Follow transfer and fall-prevention procedures.
• Provide companionship and supervision.
• Meal preparation and medication reminders.
• Light housekeeping and reporting changes to Griswold.
• Two-person assistance when required by the care plan.

Caregiver Responsibilities

• Safely operating a mechanical or Hoyer lift
• Assisting with transfers, mobility, and repositioning
• Providing hands‑on assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care
• Supporting clients who require extensive or total assistance with daily activities
• Following transfer and fall‑prevention procedures
• Providing companionship and supervision
• Preparing meals and providing medication reminders
• Performing light housekeeping
• Observing and reporting changes in a client’s condition
• Following the client’s care plan and communicating concerns to the Griswold office
• Providing two‑person assistance when required by the care plan

Requirements

• Previous hands‑on caregiving experience
• Experience safely using a mechanical or Hoyer lift
• Comfortable assisting clients with complex personal care and mobility needs
• CNA or PCA certification is strongly preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Current TB test or willingness to obtain one
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation and current auto insurance
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
• Dependable, compassionate, professional, and safety‑focused
• Able to perform the physical responsibilities of the position safely
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and the Griswold team
