Experienced BCBS Insurance Collections Specialist

AIS Healthcare is looking for experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection experts to join our dynamic team! The AR Collection role is a full-time position responsible for collection processes for TDD services, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing-related issues with insurance companies or other responsible parties for services rendered. The ideal candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of collection practices related to billing and collection activities.

Education and Experience:

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience required.
• 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience required.
• Home Infusion and Intrathecal Pain Management experience preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Recognize patients’ rights and responsibilities and support them in job duties, respecting patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalate issues as necessary.
• Evaluate payments/denials received for correctness and ensure proper application.
• Identify bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments, initiating them according to policies.
• Identify overpayments or duplicate payments, investigate, and resolve.
• Process refund requests per policies.
• Maintain contact with other departments to obtain necessary patient or insurance information.
• Understand all procedures within regulatory mandates.
• Ensure collection activities comply with department protocols and regulations.
• Make calls to troubleshoot payment discrepancies and establish resolutions.
• Document all interactions thoroughly, including phone calls and call details.
• Seek areas to maximize claim reimbursement.
• Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical terminology.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate positively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
