Experienced BCBS Insurance Collections Specialist

Role Overview

The AR Collection role is a full-time position responsible for collection processes related to TDD services, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or responsible parties. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of billing and collection practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience, including medical billing and collections.
• Preferred experience in Home Infusion and Intrathecal Pain Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalate issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments/denials for correctness and apply accordingly.
• Identify bad debts, initiate write-offs, and manage adjustments per policies.
• Investigate overpayments or duplicate payments and resolve issues.
• Process refunds in line with policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary information for claims.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates and guidelines.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and document interactions thoroughly.
• Maximize claim reimbursements and resolve denials within 5 days.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain knowledge of NDC codes, infusion supplies, insurance plans, medical terminology, and billing procedures.
• Share knowledge with team members and foster a positive, respectful work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
