Job Overview

We are seeking an Experienced BCBS Insurance Collections Specialist with at least 3 years of medical insurance collection experience to join our team at AIS Healthcare.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage collection processes for TDD services, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and billing issue resolution.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payments and escalate issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply them accordingly.
• Identify bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments, initiating them according to policy.
• Investigate overpayments and duplicate payments and resolve discrepancies.
• Process refund requests per policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary patient or insurance information.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates and guidelines.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies via calls and document interactions thoroughly.
• Maximize claim reimbursements and resolve denials within 5 days.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Stay informed on NDC numbers, infusion supplies, insurance plans, and medical coding.
• Share knowledge and work collaboratively with team members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience, specifically in medical billing and collections.
• Experience with Home Infusion and Intrathecal Pain Management preferred.
• Strong judgment, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
