Experienced BCBS Insurance Collections Specialist

Join us as an Experienced BCBS Insurance Collections Specialist at AIS Healthcare.

Role Overview

The AR Collections role is a full-time position responsible for collection processes related to TDD services, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or responsible parties. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of billing and collection practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience required.
• Experience in medical billing and collections required.
• Experience in Home Infusion or Intrathecal Pain Management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on invoices for prompt payment and escalate issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply accordingly.
• Identify bad debts, perform write-offs and adjustments per policies.
• Investigate overpayments and duplicate payments, and resolve accordingly.
• Process refund requests following policies.
• Coordinate with other departments for information needed for claims.
• Ensure activities comply with regulatory mandates and guidelines.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and establish resolutions.
• Document communication details consistently.
• Maximize claim reimbursement opportunities.
• Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and insurance plans.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
