Experienced BCBS Insurance Collections Specialist

Role Overview

The AR Collections role is full-time, responsible for collection processes related to TDD services, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or responsible parties. Candidates should have in-depth knowledge of billing and collection practices.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• 3-5 years healthcare industry experience
• 3-5 years medical billing and collections experience
• Experience with Home Infusion and Intrathecal Pain Management preferred

Responsibilities

• Support patient rights and confidentiality
• Follow up on invoices for timely payment
• Evaluate payments and denials, apply correctly
• Identify bad debts, initiate write-offs and adjustments
• Resolve overpayments and duplicate payments
• Process refund requests
• Coordinate with departments for claim payment info
• Ensure compliance with regulatory procedures
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies
• Document calls and interactions thoroughly
• Maximize claim reimbursements
• Resolve denials within 5 days
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality
• Maintain knowledge of NDC codes, infusion supplies, insurance plans, medical terminology, billing procedures, and codes
• Share knowledge and work collaboratively
• Perform other duties as assigned
