Experienced BCBS Insurance Collections Specialist

Join us as an Experienced BCBS Insurance Collections Specialist at AIS Healthcare.

We are seeking candidates with at least 3 years of medical insurance collection experience to join our team.

AIS Healthcare is a leader in Targeted Drug Delivery (TDD) and Infusion Care, committed to innovation, stewardship, and unity to improve patient outcomes and care experiences.

This full-time AR Collection role involves managing collection processes for TDD services, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and billing issue resolution with insurance companies or responsible parties. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of billing and collection practices.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience
• 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience
• Experience with Home Infusion and Intrathecal Pain Management preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Respect patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality
• Follow up on invoices for prompt payment, escalate issues as needed
• Evaluate payments and denials for correctness, apply accordingly
• Manage bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments per policies
• Investigate overpayments and duplicate payments
• Process refunds following policies
• Coordinate with departments for claim payment information
• Ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and mandates
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and document calls thoroughly
• Maximize claim reimbursements and resolve denials within 5 days
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Understand NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and insurance plans
• Share knowledge and work collaboratively
• Perform other duties as assigned
