Experienced BCBS Insurance Collections Specialist

We are seeking experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection experts to join our dynamic team. This full-time role involves managing collection processes for TDD services, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or other responsible parties. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of billing and collection practices.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience required.
• 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience required.
• Experience in Home Infusion and Intrathecal Pain Management is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Respect patient rights and confidentiality in all job duties.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalate issues when necessary.
• Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply them accordingly.
• Identify bad debt write-offs and AR adjustments, initiating them per policies.
• Investigate overpayments or duplicate payments and resolve accordingly.
• Process refund requests per policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary patient or insurance information.
• Understand all procedures within regulatory mandates.
• Ensure collection activities comply with federal, state, and payer regulations.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and establish resolutions.
• Document all communication details thoroughly.
• Seek opportunities to maximize claim reimbursements.
• Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical codes.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
• Interact positively and respectfully with others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
