Job summary

Sweet Mary's Bakery in Akron, Ohio is seeking a full-time, experienced Baker/Pastry Chef to lead our morning bake and craft croissants and macarons. Must work 30+ hours per week, with early shifts beginning around 5am on most weekdays and at least one weekend day.

2+ years of commercial, from-scratch baking is required. We train on our techniques, but candidates should be versatile and eager to learn. A pastry degree is beneficial but not required. Pay starts at $19/hour plus tips.

Qualifications

Job description

Sweet Mary's Bakery in Akron Ohio is looking for a full-time experienced Baker/Pastry Chef to lead our morning bake and execute some of our more difficult pastries, including croissants and macarons.

Must be available 30+ hours/week: early mornings (5am), most weekdays and at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday). No nights.

Experience baking in a commercial kitchen is REQUIRED to be considered. We will train on our techniques and recipes, but we are looking for applicants with 2+ years prior experience in commercial from-scratch baking, following specific recipes and methods in yeasted doughs, cakes, custards, pies, laminated pastries and other confections (macarons, pate a choux, etc). Though prior commercial experience is required, we are excited to invest in the right candidate who has a general versatility, baking knowledge and willingness to learn. A pastry degree would be beneficial but is not a requirement. Pay starts at $19/hour (commensurate with experience), plus your share of tips.
