Responsibilities
- Accurately diagnose vehicle issues using OEM and aftermarket diagnostic tools and software
- Perform advanced mechanical and electrical repairs, including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, HVAC, and drivability issues
- Complete manufacturer‑recommended maintenance services including fluid exchanges, tune‑ups, brake service, and alignments
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and document findings and recommendations clearly and accurately
- Review and interpret service bulletins, technical data, and repair procedures
- Maintain strong communication with service advisors to ensure customers receive timely and transparent updates
- Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify concerns and ensure quality of work
- Maintain shop equipment and personal tools in safe working condition
- Mentor and support entry‑level technicians and apprentices as needed
- Ensure all repairs and documentation comply with dealership, manufacturer, and regulatory standards
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to stay current with evolving technology and service practices
- Perform other duties as assigned to support department or dealership operations
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in automotive diagnostics, repair, and maintenance (dealership experience preferred)
- ASE certifications or manufacturer training credentials strongly preferred
- Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools and service information systems
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and procedures
- Excellent time management and teamwork skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required
- Must pass pre‑employment background check, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and drug screening
