Job summary

Flightcheck Commercial Aviation in Chicago, IL seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our line maintenance team. The role involves hands-on maintenance in accordance with company procedures and regulatory standards to keep aircraft airworthy.

The Aircraft Mechanic will troubleshoot engines, landing gear, hydraulics, airframes, electrical systems and more, with emphasis on safety and quality. We offer competitive pay, a $5,000 sign-on bonus, and comprehensive benefits to support career

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A&P license and state driver's license required.
• Minimum 2 years experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician.
• Strong reading/writing English and ability to interpret technical data.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Ability to climb ladders 6 to 10 feet.

Responsibilities

• Perform line maintenance following FAA, company and customer standards.
• Troubleshoot engines, landing gear, hydraulics, airframes, electrical and oxygen systems.
• Remove and replace components as required.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals and documents.
• Ensure safety and quality standards are met.
• Occasional travel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Aircraft Mechanic will perform aircraft line maintenance activities in accordance with company, FAA, other regulatory, and customer standards. Responsible for accomplishing unscheduled/scheduled maintenance; to include, troubleshooting engines, landing gear, hydraulic systems, airframes, electrical systems, and oxygen systems. Remove and replace various system components, as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with Flightcheck’s RSM, QCM, customers’ procedures, FARs, and all other applicable rules and regulations
• Accomplish job functions to the highest safety, quality, reliable, and efficient standards
• Complete aircraft maintenance work assignments to the highest standards to ensure aircraft airworthiness
• Able to read, interpret, and comply with all aircraft maintenance manuals and other maintenance documents to complete work assignments
• Must be customer service-oriented
• Ensure all company, customer, and regulatory documents are complete and accurate
• Properly use and operate support equipment in performance of assigned duties, i.e., servicing units, jacks, lifts, calibrated tooling, etc.
• Occasional travel
• Perform other duties as they are assigned

Requirements:

• Musthave a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Musthave a valid A&P and State Driver’s License
• Musthave a minimum of 2 years' experience as an AMT
• Mustbe able to read, write and understand English and the ability to interpret technical data and special operating instructions
• Mustbe able to lift and move up to 70 pounds
• Mustbe able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
• Mustbe able to climb ladders ranging from 6 to 10 feet tall

Workplace environment:

• Potential exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and moving mechanical parts.
