Job summary

Safran Cabin in Costa Mesa, CA invites you to join our Finance team as Expense Compliance Analyst. You will review and audit employee expense reports in Concur to ensure adherence to travel and expense policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.

You will collaborate with Finance, HR and Procurement to improve policy language and system controls, support training, assist month-end close, and respond to audit requests, while maintaining confidentiality and delivering clear guidance

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Windows.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • Strong written and oral communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Review and audit employee expense reports in Concur for accuracy and policy compliance.
  • Identify policy violations, missing receipts, or unusual spending.
  • Communicate with employees and managers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Approve, reject, or escalate expenses per policy and escalate violations to management.
  • Stay updated on travel, purchasing, and reimbursement policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, and Procurement to improve policy language and controls.
  • Support employee training and awareness initiatives related to expense compliance.
  • Assist with month-end close and timely review of expense reports.
  • Prepare periodic reporting on compliance trends and opportunities for training.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests related to T&E.

Responsibilities

The Expense Compliance Analyst is responsible for reviewing and auditing employee expense reports submitted through Concur to ensure full adherence to company travel & expense policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. Reporting to the HR organization, this role plays a critical part in safeguarding company resources, promoting policy compliance, and supporting employees through clear, consistent guidance.

  • Review and audit all employee expense reports submitted in Concur for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company T&E policies.
  • Identify policy violations, missing documentation, duplicate submissions, or unusual or unauthorized spending patterns.
  • Communicate directly with employees and managers to resolve discrepancies, request clarifications, or obtain required receipts.
  • Apply consistent judgment when approving, rejecting, or escalating expense items and elevate repeated or significant violations vs. T&E policies to management.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of corporate travel, purchasing, and reimbursement policies, as well as changes in applicable regulations.
  • Partner with Finance, local HR and Procurement to recommend improvements to policy language, workflows, and system controls.
  • Support employee training and awareness initiatives related to expense compliance.
  • Support month end close activities by ensuring timely review and approval of expense reports.
  • Prepare periodic reporting on compliance trends, repeat violations, and opportunities for training or process improvement.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests related to T&E transactions.
Candidate Skills & Requirements
Computer Skills
  • Proficient Microsoft Office (including Excel & Word) and Windows operating system.

  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.

  • Demonstrated experience in data reporting and identifying trends.
  • Ability to participate in and support compliance and policy training initiatives.
Additional Preferred Skills (not required)
  • Experience with Concur or other expense report management.
  • Experience in a corporate shared services or centralized HR environment.
  • Understanding of internal audit frameworks.
  • Process improvement mindset with interest in optimizing workflows and system rules.
  • Experience in international corporate environments.
