Job summary

SAIC is seeking a highly experienced System Administrator Expeditionary Systems (OpAI) to contribute to the integration of AI capabilities into expeditionary systems, including sensor kits, UxS, C2, and TAK. The role is onsite in San Diego, CA with up to 15% travel, and involves hands-on IT tasks, software updates on edge servers, and testing ML capabilities.

Qualifications

• US citizen with an active Secret clearance to start.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI after start.
• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years related experience.
• 2+ years Linux command line experience.
• Experience with edge servers and embedded GPUs.
• Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience deploying and maintaining tactical data pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI into expeditionary systems.
• Build and maintain tactical systems for exercises (radios, terminals, edge servers).
• Test software at field experiments ensuring data flow between sensors, UxS, and C2.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate ML solutions into existing systems.
• Monitor data pipelines for accuracy, reliability, and robustness.
• Stay updated with advances in edge computing and TAK ecosystem.
• Work with software engineers to connect data pipelines with operational systems.
