Job summary

Custom House in Avila Beach is seeking an experienced Food Expo/Expediter to join our refreshed kitchen team. You will help move orders from servers to the kitchen, check accuracy and temperature, and ensure dishes leave the line in order and on time.

The ideal candidate is organized, maintains high standards, communicates clearly, and can multitask in a busy dining room. Previous expo experience is a plus but not required; we value reliability, a friendly attitude, and a passion for great guest

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a food expediter or similar restaurant position.
• Well-organized with leadership ability to direct people.
• Excellent communication skills in fast-paced environments.
• Strong coordination and multitasking capabilities.
• Customer-oriented approach with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the efficient flow of orders from wait staff to the kitchen.
• Verify orders have correct priority and accuracy.
• Assist in final preparation of dishes.
• Check dishes before delivery for presentation and temperature.
• Deliver orders promptly to maintain fast service.
• Eliminate obstacles in service and prep lines.
• Inspect premises for quality and sanitation standards and aid in cleaning.
• Transfer critical information between kitchen and wait staff (e.g., special requests).
• Handle client complaints to protect the restaurant's reputation.
