Responsibilities

• Ensure communication in the kitchen about orders and dish status.
• Monitor food portion presentation according to standards.
• Inspect cleanliness and temperature of completed dishes.
• Inspect cleanliness, presentation, and temperature of dishes.
• Assist with packing to-go orders and handling call-in orders.
• Maintain clean, stocked cooking, storage, and prep areas.
• Ensure health and safety standards are followed by all staff.
• Handle guest complaints and help find solutions.

A Food Expeditor/Host is one of the first people the guest sees and the last: you are the face of the restaurant! As a host/hostess, you will be a member of a cohesive team that supports each other’s success in a fast-paced environment.

Food Expeditor/Host Responsibilities

• Ensuring communication in the kitchen by calling out orders, getting the status on dishes, and calling the waitstaff to serve completed dishes.
• Informing the waitstaff when certain dishes or ingredients have run out and passing food requests from the waitstaff to the kitchen.
• Monitoring the food portions on completed dishes according to restaurant standards.
• Ensuring that all orders are completed in time and with the correct priority.
• Inspecting the cleanliness, presentation, and temperature of completed dishes.
• Performing the finishing touches to completed dishes, such as adding garnishes and removing smudges.
• Pack togo order and handle call in orders.
• Keeping the cooking, storage, and prep areas clean, neat, and well-stocked.
• Ensuring all staff adheres to health and safety standards.
• Assisting all staff as needed.
• Handling customer complaints on behalf of the kitchen staff and looking for solutions.
