Job summary

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems seeks a Sr. Systems Engineer to relocate to Barrow-in-Furness, England, for a multi-year expatriate assignment supporting the COLUMBIA/Dreadnought SWS navigation subsystem. You will coordinate with U.S.

home office staff and program managers to install and test shipboard navigation systems. The role requires collaboration across sites, on-site testing, SITP meetings, and ensuring timely delivery of hardware and software. Some travel to U.S.

Qualifications

• DoD clearance or higher preferred and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• Willingness to reside in the U.K. for 3+ years (Expatriate assignment).
• Experience with navigation principles and inertial applications.
• Physical ability to access submarines, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering support during development, proofing, integration, and SITP for the NAV subsystem.
• Support SITP meetings and ensure proper documentation for testing, operation, and maintenance of navigation subsystem equipment.
• Coordinate with LM home office, program management, and field engineers for installation, testing, and lifecycle support.
• Perform system analyses and ensure cost, schedule, and performance constraints are met.
