Job summary

Mt. Diablo Unified School District's Ygnacio Valley High in Concord, CA is hiring an Expanded Learning Assistant Coordinator. The role supports planning and implementation of enrichment, academic and nutrition activities within the MDUSD expanded learning program.

Focus areas include scheduling, staff mentoring, site operations, communication with stakeholders, and ensuring program quality across the CARES program. 40 hours weekly, 238 days annually, with a schedule of 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: One-year experience in expanded learning programs or related fields.
• Demonstrated interest and involvement in recreation/education principles to apply to CARES after school programs.
• Ability to lead, schedule, and coordinate activities; work with others without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor day-to-day operations of expanded learning programs across the school year, intersession, and summer.
• Create a safe, positive, engaging environment; oversee student behavior and expectations.
• Mentor and support staff to build a solid work team.
• Schedule activities in academics, recreation, enrichment, and nutrition.
• Operate the program site when the coordinator is unavailable.
• Maintain inventory and records for program materials and attendance.
• Coordinate communication between school day, stakeholders, and MDUSD Expanded Learning.
• Oversee room use, facilities, and volunteer/partner support.
• Attend and lead MDUSD expanded learning program meetings and staff development.
• Communicate roles, responsibilities, policies, and procedures to staff; address performance concerns.
• Support onboarding of new employees and ongoing parent communications.
