Job summary

Mt. Diablo Unified School District seeks a part-time Special Education Assistant II/IEP to support students with diverse needs at Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord, CA.

6 hours per day, 193 instructional days per year, and duties including supervision, assistance with instruction, and social development support. Applicants must have a high school diploma and either college credits or an approved proficiency exam.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and either 48 college units or an AA degree, or CBEST/proficiency exam accepted in lieu.
• Ability to meet proficiency requirements and complete training within six months.

Responsibilities

• Assist assigned student with instructional tasks and special needs.
• Support use of special equipment and instructional media.
• Help develop and maintain appropriate social behaviors using positive reinforcement.
• Escort students to buses, classrooms, and events.
• Assist with field trips, extracurricular activities, and campus activities.
• Maintain records and perform related clerical duties.
