Job summary

Aspen Dental is hiring an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in Sanford, FL. You will provide chairside support, radiographs, and post-treatment instructions while maintaining sterile, efficient operatory flow.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant license or state certification is required.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years of experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficiency in chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sterilization and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Support doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes and train staff on the protocol.
• Follow maintenance schedules for equipment and lines as required.
• Prepare trays and operatory setup for all procedures.
• Support patient charting and documentation.
• Train others on patient handoffs and flow within the practice.
• Follow OSHA and HIPAA guidelines and Aspen safety requirements.
• Take dental radiographs and provide post-treatment care instructions.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies and post-treatment care.
• Assist with denture relines and temporary crowns as needed.
• Monitor lab cases and assist with intraoral health scans.
• Order and maintain supplies within the practice budget.
