Job summary

Aspen Dental in Glen Allen, Virginia is hiring an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support doctors and hygienists, maintain patient flow, and ensure high standards of infection control. You will assist with varied procedures, prepare operatory rooms, sterilize equipment, and help manage patient charting.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant License/Registration as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate and provide instruction on proper sterilization and infection control techniques.
• State Certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist the doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory and ensure staff training and compliance.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, suction lines, autoclave and compressor.
• Tray and operatory set-up for all procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors at a proficient level.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
