Job summary

Aspen Dental is looking for an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. You will support the DA office by assisting with patient flow, aiding doctors during procedures, and ensuring operatory readiness and sterilization compliance.

You will take radiographs, educate patients on oral care, and help manage charting, supplies, and lab coordination. The role emphasizes OSHA/HIPAA compliance, infection control, and ongoing CE participation.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant License/Registration/Certification as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
• State Certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist with directing the DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist the doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory and train staff on the process.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, suction lines, autoclave, and compressor.
• Tray and operatory set-up for all procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors at a proficient level.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
• Follow OSHA regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies.
• Complete denture soft relines and temporary crowns.
• Monitor and aid in management of laboratory cases.
• Perform quality intraoral health scans and take impressions.
• Perform expanded functions to support patient care where certified.
