Job summary

Elite Dental Partners in New York seeks an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support Dentists and Hygienists, chart patient education, prepare operatory, and ensure a smooth schedule.

You will take X-Rays, enter treatment plans, sterilize equipment, and help educate patients on oral health; growth opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• EFDA/EDDA/EFODA certification is required.
• Radiology certification required to comply with state board.
• Minimum 2 years’ dental assistant experience preferred.

• Perform procedures as directed by the Dentist and Hygienist.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side clinical support to Dentists and Hygienists by charting, patient education, operatory set-up and clean-up
• Deliver a superior patient experience at all phases of their appointment
• Take and process X-Rays
• Perform procedures as directed by the Dentist and Hygienist, while maintaining a productive, efficient schedule
• Enter patient treatment plans and maintain files
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatories
• Educate patients on the importance of their oral health and how it is best maintained

Qualifications

• Advanced Dental Assistant Certification (EFDA, EDDA, EFODA)
• Radiology certification required to be compliant with the State Dental Board
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Dental Assistant preferred
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and working with a dental software, experience with Dentrix preferred
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to partnering with all team members to create a great environment
