Job summary

Elite Dental Partners in Johnstown, PA is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant who shares our passion for patient care and education, and a welcoming environment. You will support Dentists and Hygienists, prep and sterilize, and contribute to a superior patient experience.

The role requires EFDA/EDDA/EFODA certification, radiology certification, at least 2 years of experience, and proficiency with Dentrix and MS Office.

Qualifications

• EFDA/EDDA/EFODA certification is required.
• Radiology certification required for state Board compliance.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Dental Assistant preferred.
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and dental software; Dentrix preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with all team members to create a great environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side clinical support to Dentists and Hygienists, including charting, patient education, operatory setup and cleanup.
• Deliver a superior patient experience at all stages of appointments.
• Take and process X-Rays.
• Perform procedures as directed by the Dentist and Hygienist while maintaining an efficient schedule.
• Enter patient treatment plans and maintain files.
• Complete sterilization of equipment and operatories.
• Educate patients on oral health maintenance.

• Provide chair-side clinical support to Dentists and Hygienists by charting, patient education, operatory set-up and clean-up
• Deliver a superior patient experience at all phases of their appointment
• Take and process X-Rays
• Perform procedures as directed by the Dentist and Hygienist, while maintaining a productive, efficient schedule
• Enter patient treatment plans and maintain files
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatories
• Educate patients on the importance of their oral health and how it is best maintained

Qualifications

• Advanced Dental Assistant Certification (EFDA, EDDA, EFODA)
• Radiology certification required to be compliant with the State Dental Board
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Dental Assistant preferred
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and working with a dental software, experience with Dentrix preferred
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to partnering with all team members to create a great environment
