Job summary

The Smilist is seeking a reliable, friendly Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our Elkins Park, PA practice. You will support clinicians, prepare treatment rooms, and help maintain a sterile, welcoming environment for patients.

Ideal candidates will hold an active PA x-ray license and EFDA certification, with at least 1 year of dental assisting experience, and be capable of teamwork and multitasking. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• EFDA certification required.
• Active PA x-ray license required.
• Experience as a Dental Assistant with at least 1 year.
• Proficient knowledge of dental instruments and procedures.
• Past Dentrix experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support clinicians by preparing patients and treatment rooms.
• Assist doctors during procedures and maintain a sterile environment.
• Escort patients to and from the front desk.
• Prepare tray setups and maintain supply levels in each operatory.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while attending their individual concerns and promoting the good qualities of their doctor
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patient feels comfortable; prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors - thereby enabling them to provide efficient quality dental treatment
• Escort patients to and from the front desk
• Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, ordering and replenishing as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant - at least 1 year
• Must have an active PA x-ray license
• EFDA required
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures
• Prior Dentrix experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Attention to detail and a positive attitude

Position Details:

• Schedule:Full Time - Monday through Thursday and rotating Friday/Saturday
• Salary Range:$26.00-$30.00/hour
• Location:Elkins Park, PA
