Job summary

Premier Dentist Partners is looking for an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to support dentists during restorative and general procedures. You will perform expanded functions per state requirements, take X-rays, prepare study models, and ensure top-notch infection control.

You will collaborate with a collaborative team, provide patient education, and maintain accurate records while delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced practice in Carmel, Indiana.

Qualifications

• EFDA certification and state-specific requirements (if applicable).
• Certification in dental radiography.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists chairside during a wide range of restorative and general dental procedures.
• Perform expanded functions within state-specific requirements.
• Take and process dental X-rays and impressions.
• Maintain infection control in line with OSHA and CDC standards.
• Educate patients on treatment and post-operative care.
• Maintain detailed and compliant patient records.

As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), you will play a key role in providingadvanced chair-side assistance while delivering high-quality dental care. This positionoffers the opportunity to utilize your expanded clinical skills and contribute meaningfully topatient care alongside a supportive dental team.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists chairside during a wide range of restorative and general dentalprocedures
• Perform expanded functions within the scope of state-specific requirements
• Assist with restorative procedures, including placement and contouring of amalgamand composite fillings
• Support temporary crown and bridge fabrication and placement
• Take accurate dental impressions and assist with preparing study models
• Provide orthodontic assistance as needed
• Take and process dental X-rays in accordance with state requirements
• Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms following OSHA andCDC infection control standards
• Provide clear patient education regarding treatment, post-operative instructions,and oral hygiene
• Maintain detailed and compliant patient records, including accurate charting ofprocedures and treatment notes
• Maintain dental equipment and treatment areas
• Organize and restock dental supplies as needed
• Collaborate with dentists and the dental team to ensure an exceptional patientexperience

Qualifications

• Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certification and compliance with all statespecific requirements (if applicable)
• Certification in dental radiography with the ability to take and process X-rays
• Knowledge of dental instruments, materials, restorative procedures, and infectioncontrol protocols
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
