Job summary

Elite Dental Partners in Johnstown, PA is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant who shares our commitment to patient care and education, and to creating a welcoming environment. You will provide chair-side support, take X-rays, enter treatment plans, maintain sterilization, and help educate patients on oral health while collaborating with dentists and hygienists.

EFDA/EDDA/EFODA certification and radiology license required; 2 years of experience preferred; proficiency with Dentrix and

Qualifications

• EFDA, EDDA, or EFODA certification required or preferred.
• Radiology certification required to comply with state Board.
• Minimum of 2 years as a Dental Assistant preferred.
• Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork to create a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side clinical support to Dentists and Hygienists, charting and patient education.
• Deliver a superior patient experience during all appointment phases.
• Take and process X-Rays.
• Perform procedures under supervision while maintaining productivity and schedule.
• Enter patient treatment plans and maintain files.
• Complete sterilization of equipment and operatories.
• Educate patients on oral health and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side clinical support to Dentists and Hygienists by charting, patient education, operatory set-up and clean-up
• Deliver a superior patient experience at all phases of their appointment
• Take and process X-Rays
• Perform procedures as directed by the Dentist and Hygienist, while maintaining a productive, efficient schedule
• Enter patient treatment plans and maintain files
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatories
• Educate patients on the importance of their oral health and how it is best maintained

Qualifications

• Advanced Dental Assistant Certification (EFDA, EDDA, EFODA)
• Radiology certification required to be compliant with the State Dental Board
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Dental Assistant preferred
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and working with a dental software, experience with Dentrix preferred
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to partnering with all team members to create a great environment
