Job summary

Saint Louis Science Center is seeking an Exhibit Electronics A/V Manager to design, implement, and maintain interactive lighting and AV systems across permanent and traveling exhibits.

You will collaborate with designers, engineers, educators, and operations staff to ensure visitor safety, accessibility, and engaging experiences. The role combines creative AV design with hands-on technical support for public exhibits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years designing and implementing A/V systems in museums, science centers, or similar settings.
• Technical degree or equivalent professional experience in lighting design, theatrical production, electrical engineering, or related field.
• Experience with lighting control protocols and networked lighting systems.
• Ability to read and produce technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with tools and electronics.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement creative A/V solutions for interactive exhibits and public spaces.
• Produce documentation including fixture schedules, wiring diagrams, and control narratives.
• Integrate lighting systems with exhibit electronics and control systems.
• Program and configure lighting control systems, networked or programmable.
• Collaborate with exhibit staff on system architecture, power distribution, and control strategies.
• Maintain and operate AV equipment for energy stage and traveling exhibits.
• Support installation schedules, reviews, and special events as needed.
