Job summary

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is seeking an AV MES Technician to install, maintain, and operate the Modular Exhibit System (MES) across galleries. You will lead the MES team, coordinate with project teams and external partner SAND to install shows and troubleshoot, ensuring immersive projections, lighting, and audio function daily.

You will develop documentation, train colleagues, manage tickets in IIT Help Ticketing, and contribute to exhibit enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or related field preferred.
  • 4 years AV/tech services experience, museum/large-venue preferred.
  • CTS certification through InfoComm or equivalent.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Collaborative and professional in diverse environments.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as AV team lead and oversees daily MES operation.
  • Develops and implements new MES shows with project teams and external partner SAND.
  • Escalates and resolves MES issues with SAND support and updates documentation.
  • Trains colleagues on MES operations and troubleshooting.
  • Handles AV components (computers, projectors, lighting, audio) for immersive spaces.
  • Performs startup/shutdown, maintenance, and installations.
  • Assists with AV and production projects as needed.
  • Maintains daily work records in ticketing system.
  • Engages in IT/IP programming and testing of audiovisual systems.
