Job summary

HCA HealthONE Aurora is seeking a Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Exercise Physiologist to develop individualized programs for patients recovering from heart-related conditions and to lead exercise sessions with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires training in exercise physiology, CPR/BLS, and relevant certifications; ACLS preferred. Strong patient education and leadership abilities are essential, with commitment to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in exercise physiology or related field required or preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in a clinical cardiopulmonary rehabilitation setting preferred.
• Certification such as ACSM CEP or AACVPR PR preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac medications and their effects on exercise.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized exercise programs for patients recovering from heart-related conditions.
• Conduct initial assessments and re-assessments to track progress and adjust programs.
• Lead and supervise patients during exercise sessions.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Exercise Physiologist Responsibilities & Duties

• Develop individualized exercise programs for patients recovering from heart-related conditions
• Conduct initial assessments and re-assessments to track patients' progress and adjust their programs as needed
• Lead and supervise patients during exercise sessions
• Educate patients on heart-healthy lifestyle changes and risk factor reduction
• Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care to patients
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patients' progress and treatment plans
• Stay current with advancements in the field and attend continuing education courses as needed

What qualifications you will need:

• Master's degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology, or related field
• BLS required. ACLS preferred.
• Experience in a clinical cardiopulmonary rehabilitation setting preferred
• Certifications such as ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) or AACVPR Cardiovascular Pulmonary Rehabilitation Professional
• Advanced skills in EKG interpretation
• Strong knowledge of cardiac medications and their effects on exercise
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in program development and patient education
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or related field
• Certification as an Exercise Physiologist from a recognized organization
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
