Job summary

Chippenham Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Exercise Physiologist to develop and implement exercise prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients using ACSM guidelines. The role requires BLS, with ACLS and a master’s in Exercise Physiology preferred.

The position emphasizes patient safety, device calibration, and contributing to quality improvement and rehab marketing. PRN with benefits and hospital resources available.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and implementing exercise programs.
• Proficiency with equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Ability to initiate exercise teaching for inpatients and outpatients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure department safety.
• Develop and adjust patient exercise prescriptions per ACSM guidelines.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment; initiate emergency measures when needed.
• Support Cardiac Rehab through education and progress tracking.
• Assist in marketing Cardiac Rehab and in risk-factor education.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Ensure personal and department safety.
• Develops and adjusts individual patient's exercise prescription based on ACSM guidelines.
• Is proficient in use of all equipment and maintain/calibrate equipment.
• Initiates exercise teaching with inpatients and out patients.
• Initiates emergency measures per policy and procedure.
• Expands knowledge base of Cardiac Rehab through ongoing education.
• Assists with ongoing Quality Improvement.
• Keeps team members informed about individual patient's progress.
• Assists in marketing of Cardiac Rehab Program.
• Assists in planning and implementing risk factor modification education for both inpatients and outpatients.

Experience

Required - Experience in development and implementation of exercise programs.

Preferred - Prior Experience In Cardiac Rehab Program.

EDUCATION

Required - Graduate of an accredited program in Exercise Physiology.

ACLS Certification.

Preferred - Master of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology; Certified by American College Sports Medicine.

LICENSURE:

Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care
