Job summary

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Director in Memphis to lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of our end-to-end transportation network.

You will oversee LTL, FTL, intermodal, parcel, ocean, and air freight while optimizing service, cost, network efficiency, and customer experience. The role requires a strategic leader with data-driven decision making and a passion for developing people and high-performing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10+ years of progressive transportation leadership experience.
• At least 5 years leading managers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing domestic and international transportation networks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end transportation strategy and network optimization.
• Lead transportation procurement, carrier sourcing, contract negotiations, and annual bid events.
• Develop long-term network strategies to improve service, resiliency, and cost efficiency.
• Monitor transportation market conditions and adjust network strategies for capacity planning and performance.
• Own the enterprise parcel strategy supporting direct-to-consumer, eCommerce, retail replenishment, and B2B shipments.
• Drive parcel optimization initiatives including routing, packaging, and carrier diversification.
• Build executive relationships with transportation providers and negotiate contracts.
• Lead freight forecasting, budgeting, and transportation productivity initiatives.
• Develop transportation dashboards and KPI reporting and analytics.
