Job summary

The Luskin Conference Center at UCLA is seeking an Executive Steward to oversee cleaning and sanitation operations across Plateia restaurant, Luskin Banquets, and UCLA Catering. You will manage dish rooms, schedules, inventory, and safety compliance, while mentoring supervisors and stewards to deliver high standards of guest service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Experience in executive steward role in high-volume restaurant, catering, or hotel F&B operation (Required)
• 2+ years Experience in large-scale F&B operation with storage (Required)
• 2+ years Experience in hotel F&B management (Preferred)
• Ability to lead and motivate team to deliver top customer service (Required)
• Proficient with standard business software and hospitality software (Required)
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety rules as they apply to production, storage, and service (Required)
• Ability to read, understand, and speak English to perform duties (Required)
• Ability to work with diverse populations respectfully (Required)
• Strong organizational and time-management skills (Required)
• Knowledge of commercial kitchen cleaning methods and equipment (Required)
• Ability to operate a commercial dishwasher (Required)

Responsibilities

• Oversee development, coordination, and organization of cleaning and sanitation for Plateia, Luskin Banquets, and UCLA Catering
• Manage dish rooms, cleaning schedules, and employee schedules
• Reconcile inventory for non-food items monthly and report issues to executive chef and hotel manager
• Onboard, train, and supervise multiple supervisors and stewards
• Assist with serving customers and food preparation as needed
• Ensure health department and UCLA SOP compliance and implement updated policies
