Job summary

Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort is seeking an Executive Steward to lead the daily operations of the Stewarding Department in a fast-paced luxury hotel setting.

You will schedule, hire, train and coach staff while ensuring compliance with health standards and SOPs. Collaboration with the Executive Chef and Events Director is essential to anticipate equipment needs and manage inventory effectively.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English-Spanish required.
• High school diploma preferred.
• At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field is expected.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the Stewarding Department.
• Schedule stewards, pot washers, and night cleaners.
• Hire, train, coach and assess staff; conduct performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Health Department standards.
• Maintain sanitation of kitchen, storerooms, halls, dock, and equipment.
• Coordinate with Executive Chef and Events Director on equipment needs.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and conduct quarterly inventories.
• Ensure SOP compliance across stewarding areas.
• Schedule trash removal and monitor losses prevention activities.
• Design and implement cleaning schedules and pest-control visits.
• Reconcile quarterly cleaning expenses for rebates.

++Responsibilities include but are not limited to:++

• Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the Stewarding Department.
• Schedule all stewards, pot washer and night cleaners.
• Hire, train, coach and counsel employees. Conduct staff performance reviews in accordance to company standards.
• Assure compliance with Health Department standards.
• Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen, store rooms, hallways, dock, and equipment.
• Work with the Executive Chef and the Director of Events to anticipate equipment needs.
• Order and control inventory of all cleaning compounds. Conduct quarterly china, glass, linen and silver inventories.
• Ensure compliance with SOP’s in all stewarding areas.
• Schedule and monitor trash removal.
• Coordinate and monitor all phases of Loss Prevention in the stewarding areas.
• Design and implement daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules. Schedule pest control visits.
• Reconcile quarterly cleaning expenses for rebate purposes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
