Job summary

InX is seeking a Researcher to join our New York-based team. You will develop tailored search strategies and map organizational structures to build candidate pools for senior roles across markets.

You will collaborate with Partners and Consultants, translate data-driven insights into client-ready research, and contribute to practice growth in a fast-paced boutique environment. This role is based in New York with a 3-day-per-week office presence.

What You'll Bring

• A genuine interest in one (or more) of our core markets: Private Equity, Technology, Strategy & Consulting, or Manufacturing & Automotive.
• Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple search assignments at once.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate research into clear, compelling insights.
• Comfort working with LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search techniques, CRM/ATS platforms, and other sourcing tools (training provided where needed).
• A collaborative mindset - you thrive working closely with Partners and Consultants rather than in isolation.
• Resilience and patience - senior-level searches can take time, and you stay motivated through a longer sales cycle.
• Previous experience in research, executive search, market intelligence, or a related analytical field is a plus, but not essential - we care more about mindset and curiosity than a specific CV background.

This role is the first step on our Research career path. Strong performance and demonstrated growth against the above behaviors and capabilities lead to promotion to Senior Researcher, with further progression opportunities into specialist and leadership research positions across InX.

Location & Ways of Working

This role is based in our New York office 3 days per week, working within a global team and network.
