Job summary

US Indian Health Service seeks an executive leader to guide the Area Division of Public Health, overseeing strategy, implementation, and evaluation of programs serving American Indian and Alaska Native communities. The role requires medical licensure, substantial graduate medical training, and a strong background in public health leadership and administration.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from US/Canada, accredited by ACGME/LCME.
• Current, active physician license in a US state, DC, PR, or US territory.
• Graduate training (internship/residency) in approved programs.
• Board certification in the specialty is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for the Area Indian Health Service Division of Public Health.
• Oversee planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs.
• Lead efforts to strengthen public health systems and improve health outcomes for AI/AN communities.
