Job summary

DoorDash is hiring Protective Services Associates to provide residential security coverage and on-site protective presence for executives in the Bay Area. This entry point on our cross-trained career ladder builds proficiency across residential security, monitoring, threat reporting, and close-protection fundamentals with a defined path to Senior Associate and beyond as you grow.

This role operates on-site with rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and emphasizes discretion,

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in security, law enforcement, military, hospitality, or related field.
• Comfortable monitoring multiple information sources (cameras, logs, communications) and documenting observations clearly.
• Ability to act with sound judgment, de-escalate when needed, and escalate appropriately.
• Clean, professional appearance and demeanor for high-visibility environment.
• Physical fitness required; ability to walk and run on varied terrain.
• Willingness to create professional documents and reports for team use.
• Trusted with sensitive information and close proximity to executives with confidentiality.
• Comfortable learning security and monitoring systems, and reporting software.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Residential security coverage with round-the-clock presence on a rotating shift.
• Monitor camera systems and access points; document and report security-relevant activity.
• Screen and coordinate visitors, deliveries, and vendors per established protocols.
• Plan and manage logistics of security operations, including scheduling and handoffs.
• Respond to security incidents following escalation procedures.
• Provide concierge-level service while representing Protective Services in interactions.
