Job summary

Coakley & Williams Construction is seeking a Project Executive to lead educational and institutional construction initiatives from preconstruction through closeout in Bethesda, MD. This role provides authority over project selection, staffing, and execution within a growing higher education portfolio.

The position emphasizes client relationship development, pursuit strategy, and collaboration with BU Leaders and the COO to drive growth and profitability across projects.

Qualifications

• Ten years of managing building construction projects or >$20M cumulatively.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience developing client relationships in educational/institutional markets.
• OSHA 30, First Aid and CPR certifications.
• LEED Specialty Accreditation.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365, Procore, Bluebeam; knowledge of Primavera and BIM.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for multiple higher education projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain relationships with institutional owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners.
• Identify and advance new opportunities; review pursuits, proposals, and interview strategies.
• Partner with business leaders on growth strategy, market positioning, and pursuit decisions.
• Lead project teams and oversee safety, scheduling, procurement, quality, risk, and client communication.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, change orders, owner requisitions, and overall profitability.
