Job summary

Brazos County is seeking a Director of Project Management to lead the PMO and oversee all capital and key non-capital projects from idea intake through closeout. You will enforce governance, manage the project portfolio, ensure alignment with the Master Plan, and coordinate with multiple departments and external partners.

Qualifications

• Requires BA/BS in Business Administration, Operations Management, Business Analysis, Computer Science, MIS or related field.
• Preferred MS in Business Administration, Operations Management, Computer Science, MIS or IT Project Management or related field.
• Two years of experience in Project Management, Systems Analysis, and Business Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Direct initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closeout processes under PMBOK-aligned methodologies.
• Lead governance and accountability across the project lifecycle and enforce PMO standards.
• Chair bi-weekly project meetings and provide transparent reporting to Commissioners Court.
• Maintain the County Master Plan and ensure alignment with priorities and statutory requirements.
• Oversee procurement coordination and maintain the official project portfolio register.
