The Faculty Office is a dynamic team of administrative staff to support the School in various aspects of its activities, including academic development, strategic and resource planning, outreach and external engagement, etc. The Office works closely with academic units/offices within the School and the University, as well as external stakeholders.
Reporting to the Team Head or his/her delegate(s), the appointee will be responsible for (a) handling and planning financial and other resources for all government-funded and self-financed activities of the School to support business decisions; (b) monitoring and reviewing the financial status, spatial provision, and budgets of the School, academic units, functional teams, and programmes; (c) performing financial control and completing management reports for the School, individual team/unit, and other specialised projects; (d) devising and implementing in-house financial and resources guidelines and rules; (e) serving as the main contact point for internal and external stakeholders on financial functions and space allocation of the School; (f) supervising and mentoring junior administrative staff; (g) planning, co-ordinating and providing support to Faculty-wide events and initiatives at both team and individual levels; and (h) performing other impromptu duties as assigned. Working at flexible hours and occasional business travel may be required.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) fulfilled the language requirements set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo (for Executive Officer II); (iii) at least 5 years’ relevant post-qualification executive experience in financial and resources matters, preferably in the local tertiary education sector; (iv) a strong sense of commitment and ownership; (v) good analytical, communication, interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with attentiveness to detail and accuracy; (vi) a collaborative and can-do work attitude, with the ability to deliver results independently and collaboratively as part of a team; (vii) proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and (viii) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua). Having hands-on knowledge of the University’s financial systems and operations (such as CUPIS, CUSIS, CUSAP, FMS, etc.) will be advantageous. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for written test(s).
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
