Job description

Executive Office Assistant (Legal Secretary)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Entry Level

As a CGS Legal Secretary, you will support a federal agency with moderately complex litigation support tasks, including reviewing case materials, indexing files, answering phones, and other related duties.

Skills and Attributes for Success:
  1. Perform moderately complex litigation support tasks, such as detailed review and analysis of case materials across various subjects, including financial records, healthcare materials, and litigation files.
  2. Index case files in detail.
  3. Draft procedures for litigation support assignments.
  4. Handle document acquisition tasks.
  5. Conduct database searches.
  6. Proofread and edit deliverables.
  7. Answer phones for Senior Executive Officers.
  8. Arrange travel for Senior Trial Attorneys using proprietary databases.
  9. Write memos and letters.
  10. Create PowerPoint presentations.
  11. Generate complex spreadsheets.
  12. Download PDFs and manage files on the network.
  13. Create folders and unzip files on the network.
Qualifications:
  • At least two years of word processing experience, including one year in litigation support.
  • Typing speed of at least 65 wpm with 95% accuracy.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Legal Secretary Certificate.
  • Undergraduate Degree.
