Job summary

Safe Harbor Recovery Center seeks a Director of Nursing to provide professional nursing leadership for behavioral health services onsite in Portsmouth, VA. You will set the nursing vision, oversee daily operations, and ensure high quality, safe patient care.

The role requires a BSN with MSN preferred, RN licensure, 3+ years nursing and 1+ year psychiatric/behavioral health experience, plus strong budgeting and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• MSN preferred; if not MSN, you must enter into a nursing consultation agreement with a master’s level nurse for supervision per state requirement.
• Three or more years’ experience in nursing practice required. One or more years’ psychiatric or behavioral health experience required.

Responsibilities

• Sets the vision for nursing practice to deliver safe, timely, equitable, client-centered care.
• Manages daily operations of nursing services and staffing, scheduling and training.
• Ensures compliance with state, federal and local regulations and accreditation standards.
• Oversees medication management, inventory and reconciliation with pharmacy vendors.
• Participates in budget planning and performance improvement initiatives.
