Job summary

Carroll Electric Cooperative Corporation seeks an executive leader to direct the engineering and electric operations that keep the distribution system safe, reliable, and forward-looking. You will guide capital plans, planning priorities, and major projects while balancing safety, reliability, growth, and financial stewardship.

In this role you will collaborate with senior leadership, boards and external partners to set standards, improve performance, and ensure dependable service for members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and professional electrical engineering licensure.
• Extensive experience in electric utility engineering, operations, power systems, and substations.
• Significant leadership and management experience in an electric utility environment.
• Strong knowledge of electric distribution systems, construction practices, and reliability.
• Ability to evaluate complex technical and business issues and make sound recommendations.
• Experience developing capital plans, budgets, and long-range infrastructure plans.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with senior leadership, boards, consultants, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the cooperative's engineering and electric operations functions.
• Lead long-range distribution system planning, engineering strategy, and capital improvements.
• Oversee system studies, design standards, and system modeling.
• Manage construction, maintenance, and operation of the distribution system.
• Evaluate capacity, reliability, growth, and future infrastructure needs.
• Develop capital plans, budgets, priorities, and staffing requirements.
• Coordinate major projects with consultants, contractors, and agencies.
• Promote safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Guide managers and staff through coaching and accountability.
• Support outage response and emergency preparedness.
