Job summary

The Energy Cooperative in Newark, Ohio, is seeking a Safety Manager (Electric Operations) to lead safety, health, and regulatory programs for cooperative operations and facilities. The role focuses on proactive safety culture, incident prevention, compliance with EPA/OSHA/DOT standards, and field presence across electric operations.

Responsibilities include training, audits, incident investigations, emergency response support, and coordinating with divisions to implement Safety Improvement Plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least five years of safety experience in electric utility settings.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA standards (e.g., 1910.269), NFPA 70E, and incident investigation processes.
• Ability to develop and deliver safety training and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and administer comprehensive safety, health, training, and regulatory programs.
• Lead safety audits, investigations, and corrective actions to reduce risk and improve performance.
• Maintain safety records, regulatory reports, and incident metrics for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate public safety programs and emergency action planning with operations.
